Call for abstracts

AIC 2008 is showcasing research on nutraceutical approaches to improving animal health and productivity. Abstracts are welcomed. Please submit your 250-word abstract in English only. All abstract submissions will be acknowledged electronically, and presenting authors will be notified of their acceptance.  Individuals submitting abstracts which are selected for presentation will be asked to submit an extended abstract (~2 pages) to go into the proceedings book.  All presenting authors will be required to be registered for the meeting.  The deadline for abstract submissions is October 1, 2008. English will be the official language of the Congress.

Categories

  • Nutraceuticals to improve productivity and health of livestock

  • Animal health management in organic livestock production

  • Natural product solutions for pest management, manure management, protection of water quality and other important agricultural issues

  • Probiotics and prebiotics and their effect on animal health, nutrient digestibility and/or energy partitioning in livestock

Presentation Style

  • A plenary lecture (50 min)

  • A short lecture (12 min)*

  • A poster*

* presenting students will be automatically entered into the Graduate Student Competition ($500 first prize; $300 Honourable Mention

Abstract Format  

Abstract should include:

  1. Abstract Title
  2. Author(s) and Affiliations (please indicate presenting author with *)
  3. Abstract text (250 words max)
  4. Statement on Relevance of this Research to Agriculture (25 words max)
  5. Acknowledgements [source of research funding and any corporate affiliations of the author(s)]

Abstract Submission

All abstract should be submitted using the link below.  Please fill in the PDF form according to the guidelines above, once completed use the submit button within the form (located in the lower left hand corner of the document).  An email will be generated and the information submitted will be attached as AIC_Abstract_Submission.fdf . If you encounter any problems at any point in the abstract submission process, please contact Tracy Veale by sending e-mail to tveale@cantox.com  or by calling 905-542-2900 during regular business hours.
